Jean Pierre has been working with the greenhouse sector since 1990, amassing over 35 years of experience within the industry he loves. His journey began in sales at Van der Hoeven Greenhouse Builders. In 2005, he transitioned to Adegeest Greenhouse Heating as sales director and management team member.

Jean-Pierre is a well-known geothermal pioneer in the Netherlands, as he has been bringing the first geothermal installations for greenhouses into reality from scratch. A pivotal moment in his career came in 2007 when he was involved in setting up the very first geothermal greenhouse project in the Netherlands. This hands-on experience transformed him from a mere sales professional into a geothermal project developer leading to the realisation of the Nature’s Heat project, where he was responsible for everything apart from drilling. Since then he has been a trusted consultant for many greenhouse growers. As a result, he has also run two of his own companies related to greenhouse heating systems and geothermal projects.

Bridging Commercial and Technical Expertise for Innovative Energy Solutions

Jean-Pierre’s unique blend of commercial and technical skills aligns perfectly with his new role. He will focus on establishing Carbo Culture’s name within the Dutch greenhouse industry by introducing Carbo Culture’s innovative energy solutions and launching successful projects. He is particularly excited about combining sustainable processes and delivering holistic solutions that encompass green energy, carbon removal, and valorising biomass.

“We, at Carbo Culture, are doing something completely new  and the only way to learn is by doing”

Being able to be part of the first projects holds special significance for Jean-Pierre, as their success will pave the way for future projects. He sees his role as instrumental in achieving Carbo Culture’s overarching goals by launching successful projects in the Netherlands. This will drive the company’s growth and contribute to its mission of maximising carbon removal. Jean-Pierre believes that Carbo Culture needs pioneers like him in the company because “we, at Carbo Culture, are doing something completely new  and the only way to learn is by doing.”
